As the year comes to a close, we’ve compiled a multi-part series to recap a great year and set 2012 off right. We asked our department managers to chime in with a review of 2011 and a look at what to expect from their teams in 2012. Check back throughout the next few weeks to learn more about your favorite thunder::tech departments.
Our fearless leader Jason Therrien kicks off our 2011 series with an overview of the Account Services team’s successful year.
2011 brought more growth to not only thunder::tech as a whole, but also our Account Services team. We've added staff and services and continued to provide marketing solutions to clients coast to coast. This year, we beefed up our presence in all of our major markets (Chicago, Cleveland, New York) while growing our presence in Los Angeles and San Diego with new accounts. There were also account and project wins in a dozen other locales throughout the United States.
We evolved our team quite extensively, starting with a new account coordinator, Thea Letteri, to manage several new accounts and assist on existing projects. Alexa Marinos was promoted to account executive, which keeps her on several key accounts and allows for business development support for Northeast Ohio. Account Manager Extraordinaire Michael Schwabe grew and refined our marketing strategy services including media planning, and he continues to manage to a full roster of marketing accounts. Finally, I’m also happy to report that this will be the last year I write the Account Services team recap as Andrea Aber was promoted in early December to the role of Account Services team manager.
We watched the “me too” game played this year with every other agency describing themselves as integrated. It’s disheartening to see this important term being misused to confuse clients. While I’m sure we didn’t invent it, we certainly live it.
Since our founding, thunder::tech has innovated and integrated services for clients to help them stay on top of the changing marketing landscape. This past year, we continued to expand our social media practice, integrated search engine services, mobile and tablet development, integrated advertising planning and design capabilities as well as expanded our multimedia offerings with additional staff and services.
Even with growth, our philosophies have stayed true. thunder::tech continues to build services for clients around four core integrated skill sets:
- Public Relations / Communications
- Design / Branding
- Advertising
- Digital
We also continue to live by and reinforce our
four guiding principles to clients who have kept thunder::tech on a growth trajectory throughout the Great Recession:
- Create great work
- Provide a high level of customer service
- Lead and support innovation
- Be an educational resource for clients
I’d like to thank an amazing Account Services staff for leading our marketing agency by managing these varied skill sets and supporting these principles. It has been with great pride that with each passing year I am able to watch these professionals grow and impact our clients’ businesses.
We look forward to 2012 and have learned from the economy that certainty is uncertain, but those who succeed are the ones that break out of the mold, evolve and experiment.
We thank the clients who have shown us this formula, and if you’re looking for a truly integrated marketing agency that subscribes to this business philosophy, we look forward to hearing from you.
Happy holidays and all the best in 2012.
