A QR code is not a mobile marketing strategy

posted by Accounts

Mobile marketing has definitely been a hot topic this year. We've watched brands jump in and take advantage of this rapidly increasing delivery channel. We’ve also watched other brands dive in without a plan and misunderstand what really is mobile. We’ve noticed some brands that are content to sit back and watch.

With so many facets of mobile marketing that are evolving at such a rapid pace, a guiding strategy is a must for companies.

Mobile is more than smart phones and tablets. Mobile marketing is the idea that the Internet is becoming an "always on" outlet for consumers. Brand managers need to have a better understanding of where their brand will be viewed online. Variables include screen sizes (from TVs to desktops to phones to interactive kiosks), connection speeds and environments.

Maximize video ROI with online video

posted by Video

So you have some awesome video content that probably cost you thousands of dollars to produce. Now it's time to get your money’s worth. If you don't distribute it or it's buried on your website, you aren't going to get a return on your investment (ROI). Here are some tips on getting the most out of your video content.

Home page promotion
Your home page is generally the first thing users will see. It will vary from company to company, but if your video content is broad enough, this might be a good place for it. With customers’ attention spans continuing to shorten, it may be beneficial to hit them with a quick video message rather than loading your home page with text. You can probably cover more in a 30-second video than in a short paragraph.

Playlists and related content
If you have multiple pieces of content, consider using playlists to organize your videos and provide users with an easy way to explore additional videos. You can also surround the video with links to related Web pages or social media content. Don't forget to include an obvious call to action.

Video quality matters!

posted by Video

For companies that use video as a marketing tool, quality is essential. It's the difference between looking professional versus amateur. Businesses should pay attention to three important aspects of quality: content, production and delivery.

Content/Pre-Production
The first part of a video project starts with an outline and script. If this step is overlooked or not properly thought out, the video will likely be unsuccessful. For a business-orientated video, this is where you need to think: What is the intent, or goal, of the video and how do we strategically deliver the message? It should be concise but packed with information. No one wants to watch a video that goes on forever and rambles about nothing! You need to grab the user's attention within the first 10 seconds or they might stop watching.
