I just got back from the 2012 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas (actually, I'm starting this post on the flight back). The NAB Show is an annual event that spotlights anything and everything related to video production and broadcasting. More than 90,000 people attended the show this year. Exhibitors showcased their new products while attendees learned about new technologies and techniques from the show floor and educational sessions.
A lot of the buzz this year was around 4K (and 2K, 2.5K, 3K…)—which are formats larger than high definition (HD), meaning more pixels and higher resolution. Manufacturers are developing more affordable cameras, which makes them accessible to video producers who will start to adopt them quicker.

In the airport, at an event or even at the gas station, you're probably
seeing digital signage in more places than ever before due to better,
more cost-effective technology. Once reserved mostly for entertainment
venues, digital signage now has very real, practical, business uses.
The phrase Digital Out of Home, or DOOH, is being used on the
business-to-consumer (B2C) side to describe digital advertising
interactions away from the home. This can range from mobile phones and
tablets to digital billboards and kiosks. A basic use for digital
signage is simply advertising. Consumers view messages from marketers
just as they would with any other advertising but unlike print, digital
signage can be much timelier and be changed and scheduled based on time
of day, the weather or other condition.

Because of this, videographers are often expected to produce a video that will go viral. While the idea is a very noble one, a viral video involves many variables to be successful. 2011 was a year of growth for the thunder::tech family in general,
but that theme rang especially true for the Creative department, which
includes the Design and Multimedia teams.
Multimedia team doubled in 2011, allowing us to take on more projects.
With an increased talent pool, we were able to offer more multimedia services
and add to our portfolio of videos, 3-D capabilities, interactive video
boards, touch screens and mobile and tablet integration.
were able to flex our design and creative copywriting muscles more this
year through several integrated advertising campaigns. In our second
year with Castaway Bay, Cedar Point's indoor water park, we were able to
evolve the “Escape With Your Family” campaign through more billboards,
print ads, free standing inserts (FSIs) and media-rich digital ads. We
were also able to integrate the campaign into their Facebook page and
social media posts.
